  • What is stereotyping?

Stereotyping is when people make assumptions about a group of people based on things like their race, gender, or where they’re from.

  • Stereotypers judge groups of people based on bigotry, rather than respecting and judging each person as an individual.

“Left unchallenged, they would still prey upon the powerless, and we must not permit that to happen again.”

— President Bill Clinton

  • What should you do if I see things like bullying, bigotry, stereotyping, or discrimination?

Don’t be a bystander, say something!

  • What is a bystander?

A bystander is someone who sees something happening but doesn’t ge involved or help.

  • Examples of being a bystander include:

    - Watching a game instead of playing

    - Watching someone get bullied and choosing to not intervene or speak up against the bully

  • If you see someone facing hatred or bigotry, step up and protect them, or tell a trusted adult. Speaking out can make a difference.
